The Devil's Island Run

A Novel of Operation Urgent Fury Grenada, October 1983. The invasion was supposed to be fast. For Staff Sergeant Nathan Voss and his Rangers, nothing goes according to plan. When American forces descend on the Caribbean island of Grenada during Operation Urgent Fury, Staff Sergeant Nathan Voss has one mission: secure the airfield at Point Salines and bring his men through alive. Then his team discovers evidence that twenty-three Americans have been moved into the island's mountainous interior. What begins as a desperate search for missing civilians soon pulls Voss and his small Ranger unit far beyond the original mission. Cut off from reliable communications and operating across unfamiliar terrain, they encounter frightened civilians, scattered enemy forces and Grenadian officer Elias Baptiste—a man whose loyalties are far more complicated than they first appear. But another threat is emerging. Captured documents point toward a shadowy network with connections stretching far beyond Grenada, and Voss discovers that his own name appears in its files. As the fighting spreads, the Ranger must decide how far he is prepared to go when orders, intelligence and the reality on the ground no longer agree. Every decision carries consequences. And Voss is about to discover that getting his men into battle was the easy part. Bringing them all home will be something else entirely. The Devil's Island Run is a fast-paced military thriller combining fictional characters and missions with the historical backdrop of the 1983 invasion of Grenada. Packed with Ranger operations, firefights, rescue missions, difficult command decisions and the confusion of combat, it is a story of loyalty, leadership and the men who fight beside you when the plan falls apart.
