Diana

Once upon a time I had a friend named Diana who I spoke to every day. We were bound to each other through history and affection, as close as friends could be. Then she betrayed me. Bright, ambitious, and hopelessly competitive, Annie and Diana were inseparable young actresses cutting their teeth in New York City. They shared everything: cramped apartments, boyfriends, and the delusion that their cutthroat profession had room for both of them. But as their circumstances shift and their paths narrow, their friendship starts to falter. Now Annie’s life has collapsed. Exiled to her parents' house in the suburbs, with her career and marriage in shreds, she spends her days consumed by thoughts of the life she could have had. As she sifts through the wreckage of the last 20 years, one woman lies at the obsessive, brooding root of Annie’s breakdown: Diana. With her betrayal, Annie came undone. But now she has a chance to settle the score. Darkly comic, searingly intelligent and shocking at every turn, Diana is a story of art, passion, motherhood, friendship, and work – a modern tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.
