This was ridiculously good...? I don't know how to put this in a way that doesn't sound mean. Short answer: it was too much. Long answer: We have a "mafia" mother who groomed her child to be her weapon, and did other unspeakable things (I highly recommend reading the TWs). Then we have the church boy with his religious guilt and hypocritical parents who only offer love with terms and conditions attached. Then we're force-fed a bunch of kinks, one after another, like this book was written for a kink fest on AO3. On top of all of that, and killer-boy going on the occasional murder spree, we also get every trope imaginable: popular x nerd, QB x TA, golden retriever (fake) x black cat... and many more. The relationship itself was actually really satisfying, and I loved them together, but everything happening around them kept distracting me. I got so overwhelmed by ethe constant stream of plotlines, tropes, and kinks that I couldn't fully enjoy the romance. I also think 500+ pages was a bit much, but I digress.
