The Double Promise

Jesus' double promise of the Holy Spirit dwelling in and with his people in John 14:17 may help clear up centuries of confusion over the Holy Spirit's role in believers' lives. Evangelicals have long held that the Holy Spirit is received instantly and automatically at the moment of salvation. Pentecostal-charismatics have long argued for a "second work" subsequent to salvation called "Spirit baptism." What if both are right?
