1926, New York

(New York 1926 - Weston, Connecticut 2005) narratore statunitense. Ha debuttato con il nome di Evan Hunter pubblicando romanzi di denuncia sociale (Il seme della violenza, The black-board jungle, 1954), a cui è seguita una serie di romanzi polizieschi che narrano le vicende di un immaginario 87º distretto di polizia newyorkese: L’assassino ha lasciato la firma (Cop hater, 1956), Lo spettacolo è finito (See them die, 1960), 87ºdistretto: tutti presenti (Hail, hail, the gang’s all here!, 1971), Veleno per l’87° distretto (Poison, 1987). Ha scritto inoltre alcuni romanzi che hanno per protagonista l’avvocato Matthew Hope (tra i quali, Cenerentola, Cinderella, 1986).
