The Group Chat

The killer is typing... Sydneysiders Briar, Harriet, and Zara met on a bereavement forum and soon took their mutual gallows humour offline. When they're not chatting in person, they're catching up on their private WhatsApp group chat. It's a safe space for them to vent. Or, it was. Until Alex. A lonely acquaintance of Briar's husband, Alex was originally invited to join the girls for one drink, but before they know it, she's been officially added to the group. Harriet and Zara are immediately won over, but Briar senses something is off about Alex. Her stories about her past keep changing. And as they spend more time together, Briar wonders if Alex is more than a little obsessed with her . . . When the friends go on a weekend break, the rural idyll is quickly shattered when a body is found metres from the holiday home. Could Alex really be a murderer, or is it all in Briar's head? As tensions rise and tempers collide, old alliances will be pushed to the brink, and the group forced to answer: do you know who your real friends are? Will they find the real culprit before it's too late? Or will the bereavement group end up being the cause of an altogether different untimely demise?
