Edward W. Ludwig was an American writer whose science fiction appeared throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. He contributed stories to magazines including Fantastic Universe, If, Imagination, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, while also writing mystery and adventure fiction. Inheritance takes a familiar end-of-the-world premise and makes it intensely personal.
