Language and Politics in India

This volume-in the Themes in Politics series-focuses on the relationship between language (culture) and politics (power) at the social, political, historical, cultural, and ideological levels. It explains the conceptual and historical unfolding of this relationship between 1900 and 2000. It also expands newer areas and frontiers of research and critical thinking by drawing attention to readings from different disciplines and perspectives. The essays have been thematically arranged to illustrate the rich diversity of issues and arguments.
