This superb collection unites two of A. B. Simpson's finest works, which together advise and counsel Christians who wish to live a harmonious existence close to God. Written at the beginning of the 20th century, Simpson's guidance retains its freshness and impact despite the long lapse of time. His evangelical spirit was convinced in the truth of his God-divined words, and he partly attributed the success of missions he oversaw to the profundity of his words and hymns. The first work, The Life of Prayer, examines the need for Christian prayer and reflection from multiple perspectives.
