Formatisi a Bristol nel 1969, gli STACKRIDGE sono stati una delle band britanniche più singolari dell'epoca. Dotati di un dono per la melodia, la musicalità e un fine senso dell'umorismo, i loro concerti erano leggendari. Una successione di splendidi album negli anni Settanta fece guadagnare alla band un seguito fedele, ma in seguito alla pubblicazione dell'album “Mr. Mick” si sciolse. Fu quindi una piacevole sorpresa quando nel 1999 venne pubblicato l'album “Something for the Weekend”. Gli Stackridge hanno continuato ad andare in tour, ma nel 2015 sia Mutter Slater che Crun Walter hanno lasciato il gruppo. Il 19 dicembre 2015 gli Stackridge si sono esibiti in un concerto d'addio a Bristol (per il quale sono stati raggiunti dall'ospite Mutter Slater), che è stato registrato e successivamente pubblicato come doppio album “The Final Bow”. Questa raccolta riunisce gli album “Something for the Weekend”, il mini-album “Lemon”, “A Victory for Common Sense” e “The Final Bow: Bristol 2015”. Contiene anche tracce bonus aggiuntive come la ri-registrazione del 2006 di “Purple Spaceships Over Yatton”, “Seek and You Will Find” ed entrambe le canzoni del raro CD singolo “Dummies”.
