The Man in the Window
Thirty-eight floors above London, Julian Phillips has everything money can buy. Everything except a life of his own. Twenty-three-year-old Julian is a successful illustrator, heir to a fortune, and almost completely sheltered from the world outside his luxury apartment. Raised to believe that London is dangerous, strangers cannot be trusted, and staying safe matters more than taking risks, Julian has never dated, never explored the city alone, and never even had his first kiss. Then a man appears outside his window. Frankie Michaels is a rope-access technician, which apparently means dangling hundreds of feet above London with a drill, an infuriating grin, and absolutely no respect for Julian's carefully ordered routine. Their first conversation takes place through reinforced glass. Their second involves considerably ruder gestures. Somehow, Frankie keeps coming back. Soon coffee at the window becomes conversations, conversations become invitations, and Julian starts wondering about everything waiting for him at street level. The Tube. Late-night takeaway. Terrible nightclubs. Ridiculous purchases. Friendship. Dating. Kissing. Frankie is more than happy to show him all of it. But the more Julian's world expands, the more complicated his growing feelings for Frankie become. Because Julian does not want another person deciding what his life should look like. He wants to discover that for himself. And somewhere between the thirty-eighth floor and the streets of London, he might also discover that falling in love does not have to mean being rescued. The Man in the Window is Book 3 in the Once Upon a Boyfriend series, a collection of contemporary MM romance novels inspired by beloved fairy tales. This warm, funny modern Rapunzel retelling features a sheltered wealthy hero, a confident working-class love interest, first love, first kiss, opposites attract, hurt/comfort, found family, London adventures, and ordinary moments that feel a little bit magical.
