The Names

Hagar was pregnant, alone, and running into the desert with nothing ahead of her. When God met her there, she did something no one else in Scripture does. She gave Him a name. El Roi. The God who sees me. She was still a runaway. Nothing about her situation had changed. She named Him from inside it. THE NAMES is a Christian prayer book built on forty-one biblical names of God, and every one of them comes out of a moment like hers.
