Nerve Center

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice. Your company doesn't lack a plan. It has four. Sales has a forecast. Finance has the budget the Board approved. The plants are building the master schedule, and purchasing is buying against its own plan. Each was made in good faith, in a different room, and none of them says what it assumed. The first time they have to agree is on the shipping dock, where a good customer gets shorted or a warehouse fills with stock nobody ordered. In Nerve Center, Bill Canady, bestselling author of The 80/20 CEO, shows chief executives how to run SIOP (sales, inventory and operations planning), the monthly cycle that replaces those plans with one: eighteen months in units and dollars, carried to the gross margin line, decided once with the CEO in the chair. Freeze the numbers and tie them to the ledger. Test demand at the constraint. Price every option. Walk each month's plan to the next, and write every decision down with an owner, a date and a dollar value. One invented company, Riverton Industrial Products, runs its first three cycles in the open, every number reconciled. The companion to The 80/20 Institute's PGOS SIOP Masterclass, with a separate Field Guide of thirty-nine worksheets.
