Jill Murphy è stata un'autrice e illustratrice britannica di libri per bambini. Ha cominciato a scrivere e disegnare storie all’età di sei anni, divertendosi a creare i suoi libri utilizzando una spillatrice. Dopo aver lavorato alcuni anni con i bambini, è iniziata la sua vera carriera di scrittrice e illustratrice. La serie della Strega Imbranata Mildred (tradotta in Italia da La Nuova Frontiera), il cui primo volume è stato pubblicato da Penguin nel 1974, ha avuto da subito un enorme successo, dando vita negli ultimi anni a un musical e a una serie tv per la BBC e Netflix.Da ricordare anche Cinque minuti di pace (Nord-Sud 2016), Cosa ti sei fatta?
