È insegnante all’Oberlin College. I suoi racconti, Among the Missing (NNE), sono stati finalisti al National Book Award, mentre i romanzi successivi, tra cui You Remind Me of Me (NNE), hanno ricevuto diversi premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui lo Story Prize e l’Academy Award in Literature. Suoi scritti sono apparsi in Best American Short Stories, The Pushcart Prize Anthology, e The O. Henry Prize Stories.La volontà del male (NNE, 2019), finalista al Shirley Jackson Award, è stato un best seller negli Stati Uniti e in tutti i paesieuropei.

Thomas Tryon

Attore e scrittore statunitense, ha avuto un’importante carriera cinematografica recitando anche al fianco di John Wayne. Dopo aver assistito alla proiezione del film Rosemary’s Baby di Roman Polanski, tratto nel 1968 dall’omonimo romanzo di Ira Levin, Tryon volle misurarsi con la stesura di un romanzo proprio. Ne scrisse diversi, di genere horror e fantascientifico. L’altro è la sua opera più celebre, e ispirò il film omonimo diretto da Robert Mulligan.
