Problems Welcome

Mercer Solutions looks like an ordinary small office. It is not. People come through the door with the problems nobody else seems equipped to handle: situations too strange for customer service, too personal for bureaucracy, too awkward for the usual professionals, or simply too complicated to explain in a normal phone call. Daniel Mercer has a dangerous instinct: when someone asks whether his team can help, he tends to say yes. Fortunately, Maya, Nina, Sofia, Leo, and Owen are there to ask the questions he forgets to ask: Who is actually the client? What do they want? Do they have permission? And, increasingly important, should Mercer Solutions be involved at all? As unusual cases begin to overlap with the lives of the people solving them, the team discovers that helping someone is not the same as taking control. Sometimes the best solution is practical. Sometimes it is ridiculous. And sometimes the real job is simply helping people figure out what happens next. Problems Welcome is the first book in Customer Service for Impossible Problems, a warm ensemble workplace comedy about ordinary people taking absurd problems seriously, learning boundaries the hard way, and somehow building a business in the process.
