Read Write Inc. Phonics: Sound Blending Books (Mixed Pack of 10)

The Read Write Inc. Phonics Sound Blending Books provide extra practice for children who are beginning to blend confidently. The books are designed to build accuracy, fluency and confidence before children move on to reading full decodable texts. The Sound Blending Books are simple, one-word-per-page books for individual or partner practice. Each word is first shown on the right-hand page. When the child turns the page, they will see the word again, this time with any digraphs ('special friends') underlined and an accompanying picture so they can check they have read the word correctly. There are ten books in the series, progressing in complexity from simple CVC words, to CVC words with digraphs, to CVCC/CCVC words and beyond. The books should be used after children can confidently blend using the Nursery Green Word Cards, and before they begin reading the Red Ditty Books.
