Reckoning

Aren't angels supposed to be the good guys? Heaven wants her silenced. He defied Heaven once. Loving her could start a war neither of them can escape. All Theia ever wanted was to be normal. As a Nephilim, part human and part angel, she's spent twenty-five years trying to fit into a world where she's never quite belonged. Her grandmother always described angels as creatures of grace and miracles. She conveniently left out the rage, violence, and terrifying wrath. When Heaven destroys Theia's carefully constructed life, everything she believes comes crashing down. Hunted by the very beings she thought were supposed to protect her, Theia finds herself facing a destiny she never wanted and powers she doesn't yet understand. Then she finds Aric. He walked away from Heaven. Now the woman he was determined to protect might be the one temptation he can't resist. Aric refused an order he couldn't obey and chose a quiet existence among humans rather than return to Heaven. For decades, he's worked to keep Theia hidden from celestial attention. Now his efforts have failed spectacularly. With Heaven closing in, Aric must help Theia discover her strength, embrace her heritage, and learn to defend herself against those determined to silence her. But somewhere between dangerous lessons, stubborn arguments, and undeniable attraction, their relationship becomes something neither expected. For Theia, Aric offers more than protection. In his arms, she discovers passion, acceptance, and the kind of love she's only ever dreamed of. For Aric, loving Theia means risking the peaceful existence he sacrificed everything to build. And Heaven isn't known for forgiveness. As Theia's power grows, so does the danger surrounding them. She must decide whether to keep running from the angels who want her silenced or unleash a reckoning of her own. Aric just hopes she doesn't obliterate the northern Midwest in the process. Heaven made her an outcast. Love might make her unstoppable.
