Run
For three years, former covert operative Kade Mercer has lived alone in the Mojave Desert, hiding from the agency he once served and the fatal mission he cannot forgive himself for. Then an impossible aircraft falls from the night sky. At the crash site, Kade discovers a damaged intelligence made of structured light. It identifies itself as the VX-9 Sentinel, an experimental predictive-threat construct created by the secretive Axiom Defense Directorate. Before the forces pursuing it can arrive, the Sentinel binds itself to Kade's nervous system and awakens the vessel it once controlled: the GhostTalon. Now Kade can see frequencies no human was meant to perceive. He can feel the GhostTalon through his bones, enter the hidden dimension underlying physical reality, and hear the Black Echo—a signal carried through a mysterious realm known as the Ghostline. The Sentinel discovered something inside that realm that Axiom is willing to destroy both of them to conceal. The Ghostline is not empty. Its fractured territories contain impossible structures, predatory entities, corrupted transmissions, and traces of the Null Choir, an intelligence approaching from beyond the boundary between worlds. The damaged Sentinel believes an ancient mechanism called the Anchorfall Engine may be their only chance to repair the GhostTalon, stabilize Kade's neural bond, and determine what the signal means. Axiom intends to stop them first. Leading the pursuit is Markus Dane, a precise and relentless commander authorized to eliminate every witness. Axiom also deploys Rylan Keene, an enhanced Shadow operative and GhostTalon countermeasure who has been conditioned to believe Kade died three years ago. When Rylan begins uncovering falsified records and suppressed memories, the hunt becomes a confrontation between former allies whose friendship may be the one variable Axiom failed to erase. With a fleet closing around them and the Null Choir pressing against reality, Kade must master an aircraft that can vanish between dimensions, trust an intelligence that entered his mind without permission, and confront the possibility that their meeting was not accidental. Someone—or something—inside the Ghostline may have been preparing him for this moment since childhood. Run launches Ghostline, a military science-fiction mystery thriller of sentient war machines, neural bonds, covert agencies, altered memories, interdimensional pursuit, and a disgraced operative who discovers that running away and running toward the truth can follow the same path.
