But there was no one standing near him! Everyone there that day was prepared to testify that a man had been stabbed in plain sight of them all – and none of them had seen anyone close to him at the time it happened. The puzzle of an apparently invisible assailant and the substantial fee that had been offered for solving the crime drew the Troy's attention. Worcester MA Telegram "It's a marine tragedy --- not on the high seas, but on the little lake in New York's Central-park where the Knickerbocker Model Yachting club sails its craft and the murder of its Commadore that gives Jeff Troy the chance for some plain and fancy sleuthing in 'Sailor, Take Warning!', the newest plot concocted by Kelley Roos. Commodore Austin Marshall is killed right under the eyes ofa Sunday afternoon parkful of people - with Halia one of the nearest people to him, Soon the pair set out on it zigzag trail over half New York, even to Hoboken, and several Fifth Avenue mansions, before they know who sent that sliver of steel into Marshall's neck.
