Software Company: All the Other Stuff Booklet

This booklet is a subset of the complete Software Company book. It contains all the chapters which don't fit into one of the other booklets and an appropriately edited foreword, introduction, and final word. NOTE: This booklet does not have all the Software Company book chapters in it. This is why it is significantly cheaper than the complete book! My advice is based on over 23 years of starting, running and exiting two very successful international software companies. My aim has been to deliver a comprehensive practical handbook for software entrepreneurs. This booklet contains 'How to Start' (the complete book's first chapter) includes first steps, the 'hard yards', company structures and ownership including a discussion on percentages and share options. The booklet then moves onto discuss various aspects of 'running the business' including how long you should spend on strategy, vision and mission, before concentrating on some of the most important considerations: product positioning and product management, including product naming, release cycles, and market perception. Finally, the partners chapter examines all the different types of partners which a typical independent software vendor (ISV) will come across in the course of its business. The purpose of these booklets is that, if you just want to read my thoughts on, in this example, how to start, some aspects of running the business and partners, you don't have to purchase the whole book.
