Propr. Arthur Tatum. Pianista statunitense di jazz. Quasi completamente cieco, era in possesso di una tecnica prestigiosa che lo spinse a un brillante virtuosismo, tipico del suo tempo, ma riscattato in lui da momenti di autentica, geniale inventività, tanto sul piano delle armonie quanto nella elaborazione melodica di un vastissimo repertorio di canzoni. Formò nel 1943 un fortunato trio, ma si espresse al meglio soprattutto da solista.
