Simon Beckett è un autore britannico. Nato a Sheffield nel 1960, è editorialista e giornalista freelance su «The Times», «The Daily Telegraph» e «The Observer». Vincitore del Premio Marlowe della Chandler Society come Best International Crime Novel, Bompiani ha pubblicato Jacob (2010) e l'intera serie dedicata all'anatomopatologo David Hunter: La chimica della morte (2006), Scritto nelle ossa (2007), I sussurri della morte (2009), e La voce dei morti (2011). Nel 2015, inoltre, ha pubblicato anche il romanzo Il rifugio.
