Stormfire

She was sent to kill him. Juno Voss is the Tempest Eyrie's best killer, war-captain of the storm dragons, and her uncle Lord Kael has given her one order: the Prime dies before anyone can leash him. Nash Cole, the first Prime in three hundred years, should have been an easy target. One bolt of lightning out of a clear sky. It wasn't. His fire answered hers, white-gold meeting blue-white, a resonance unseen in three centuries, and Juno did the first dishonest thing of her life: she told her lord the target was dead. Lies get easier. When Kael sends a second team to confirm the kill, Juno has to protect the man she was sent to murder, then train him, then choose him. And when she learns Kael staged an attack on his own border to manufacture the war he claims to fear, the soldier who never disobeyed an order starts breaking them on purpose. The claiming comes in the heart of a weaponized thunderstorm, and it is open treason. But treason is only the beginning, because someone else has been watching. Stormfire is Book 2 of the Emberbound series, a dragon-shifter romantasy with explicit adult consensual content.
