Supermarket Shenanigans

Take an unfiltered, hilarious, and insightful look at what it really takes to keep the heartbeat of a major supermarket steady. From mastering the produce code for bananas (4011) and hitting a record-breaking fifty items per minute on scan test days, to navigating the grueling, million-dollar holiday surges between Thanksgiving and New Year's, this book pulls back the curtain on the grocery industry. Discover the daily battle against "shrinkage" - from the predictable loss of spoiled milk and freezer-burned meat to the mind-boggling audacity of customer scams. You will meet the unforgettable characters who populate the grocery aisles: the neighborhood regulars, the chaotic scammers, and the fellow employees looking out for one another in the trenches. More than just an anthology of workplace tales, this book is intended to memorialize the formative, touching, and comical collection of anecdotes that shaped my career. This memoir is a tribute to the tight-knit community of part-timers and lifers who conquered the chaos together with me. It’s a story about the lessons that corporate manuals can't teach - resilience, servant leadership, the true meaning of customer service, and taking immense pride in your work - even in the smallest things.
