The Table

The Table is a trauma-informed literary novel by Teresa Anderson, a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training in trauma. At an ancient refuge where marigolds bloom, and memory moves like water, seven women are called to a mysterious dinner. Each arrives carrying fragments of a life shaped by grief, abuse, abandonment, shame, and survival. Around the table, their stories begin to surface—not all at once, and not without resistance, but with the quiet force of truth finally asking to be seen. Blending fiction, spiritual symbolism, and trauma-informed insight, The Table explores the body’s memory, intergenerational trauma, mother-daughter wounds, self-abandonment, and the sacred work of becoming whole. Written for survivors, seekers, and women on healing journeys, the novel also speaks to therapists, counselors, coaches, and helping professionals who may find it valuable as a reflective narrative resource in conversations about trauma, integration, and self-reclamation. This is not just a story about what happened. It is a story about what becomes possible when what was broken is gathered back into wholeness.
