The Fufu Tree

A generous king owns a magical talking drum that can produce endless feasts with a single beat. Whenever the drum sounds, tables overflow with delicious food—fufu, soups, roasted fish, yams, and palm wine—bringing humans and animals together in peace and celebration. But the drum carries a dangerous secret. Far away in the forest lives a clever and greedy tortoise who dreams of living like royalty without working. When a small misunderstanding involving a palm nut gives him the chance to trick the king, Tortoise boldly demands the magical drum for himself. Soon, he and his family enjoy endless banquets, and the entire village is amazed by his sudden wealth. However, Tortoise's pride and carelessness awaken the drum's terrible curse. Instead of food, terrifying masked figures burst from the air, bringing chaos and panic wherever the drum is beaten. Humiliated and desperate, Tortoise returns the drum to the king and receives a second magical gift—a mysterious foofoo tree hidden deep in the forest. For a while, the tree provides more than enough food for Tortoise's family. But when greed once again takes control, a secret discovery by Tortoise's sons changes everything forever.
