Some doors should never be opened. Scott Dawson's family just inherited a house full of them. Six months ago, Holly Dawson vanished. Her husband Scott still doesn't know if she's dead, or if she left because of what he did. His business is gone. The foreclosure notice could come any day. Their son Hudson gets angrier by the week. Their daughter Hazel swears she still hears her mother's voice. Then a lawyer in a silk suit shows up in the driveway. Holly had family she never mentioned. Her late uncle, Alastair Galloway, has left everything to her children: Galloway Manor, a sprawling estate on the Oregon coast, and a million dollars for every year they live there. There are rules. One of the children must stay on the grounds at all times. Break a single one, and they lose it all. Hazel doesn't want to go inside. She's already seen the girl watching from the upstairs window. A girl died in that house twenty-nine years ago. The Dawsons came to Galloway Manor to start over. Something inside has been waiting for them much longer than that. Threshold is a gothic supernatural thriller from Sean Platt and David W. Wright, bestselling authors of Yesterday's Gone.
