The Trigger Circle

Progress is a staircase, not an escalator. But according to Dr. Arthur Evans, LMFT, his patients are rapidly sliding backward into the basement. Historic Doylestown, Pennsylvania, looks exactly like a picture-perfect postcard. But underneath the quaint charm lies a ticking time bomb of petty human rage. As a licensed therapist in a town on the absolute edge of sanity, Dr. Evans is trained to offer a calm, practiced soothe to twitching faces. What they didn't teach him in graduate school, however, was how to handle a yoga instructor who drop-kicks a sixty-pack tower of grocery store paper towels over exact change, or a high-society executive who commits felony kidnapping because a bad weather forecast ruined his outdoor wedding. Clutching his clipboard to his beige cardigan like a shield, Dr. Evans runs The Trigger Circle—a sterile basement support group featuring ten volatile citizens, a handful of absurd grievances, and a fat, glassy-eyed emotional support ferret. Written by multi-instrumentalist author Stephen The Storyteller, The Trigger Circle is a hilarious, fast-paced dark comedy about what happens when the thin veneer of good manners shatters completely, and an exhausted therapist is the only thing standing between a beautiful historic town and total chaotic breakdown.
