Vanity Bishop is from an ancient clan of vampires where the females are the superior warrior. When the mating ritual ended, the males were led out into the sun to their death. It's the twenty-first century, and the old vampire clans are warned that they must cease their ancient rituals. In a show of faith, an ancient sect of vampires chooses Vanity to induct into their elite sect of vampires. These creatures fight evil and are superior and deadly warriors. When training begins, she meets a human warrior, an ex-navy seal who was seriously wounded protecting her world and his. Her attraction to the fallen warrior is dangerous, and Vanity learns he's more than he appears to be. Will age-old customs come back to destroy her future? Can both creatures withstand the one power, stronger than anything they've ever experienced, a power called love? Or will they fall prey to the faults and indecisions accompanying the power of love? Only time will tell.
