A teenage girl is missing. Eleanor Rawlins is an unworldly loner, who would rather be climbing than thumbing an IPad. A teacher is found dead in the woods. Is it suicide or murder? It's too late for DI Irene Nicholson - retirement is due. But she can't let go.
