Moreover, a quantum computer is a far cry from a classical computer. There are a copious amount of differences between a quantum computer and a classical computer. One difference between a classical computer and a quantum computer is that a quantum computer harnesses quantum parallelism “to process information”, whereas a classical computer harnesses binary processing “to process information”. A classical computer “processes information sequentially”, whereas as a quantum computer processes information in massive parallelism. Harnessing massive parallelism “to process information” renders it possible for a quantum computer to concomitantly “explore multiple computational paths” when it is processing information. Another difference between a classical computer and a quantum computer is that they are comprised of disparate hardware components. A quantum computer lacks a “random-access memory module, a central processing unit, conventional binary transistors, and hard drives”, whereas a classical computer lacks a “quantum processing unit, superconducting circuits, and a dilution refrigerator”.
