Where Silent Watched
Arya Pratama is sixteen and he's transferred schools before. He knows the drill: new teachers, new faces, the low hum of being the outsider for a few weeks. What he isn't ready for is the quiet. Ibu Agnes's literature class doesn't sound like a classroom. Thirty students sit in rows so even they look drawn with a ruler, writing at the same pace, never once talking out of turn. No side conversations. No laughing at something dumb in the margins. No arguing about the reading. It's the kind of quiet that isn't empty — it's paying attention to you. Arya's always been the kid who catches the thing nobody else notices — the missing piece, the detail that doesn't add up. In this room, what he catches is an empty desk in the back corner, a note folded into his worksheet like it's been waiting for him specifically, and three words scratched into the wood underneath: RAKA WAS HERE. He starts asking questions. That's the problem. Ibu Agnes already knows he will — she's counting on it. And the students who stop showing up haven't transferred anywhere. They've been folded into something else, a chain of facilities run by an organization that doesn't officially exist: the Institute for Human Potential Development. Nisa, a girl in his class, has been keeping her own record of the things slipping out of her memory. Together, they're trying to get to the truth before whatever's happening to the others finishes happening to him. But Arya's already losing time. His handwriting doesn't look like his anymore. And when he plays back a recording of himself in class, the voice is his — saying things he never remembers deciding to say. Where Silent Watched You is about a classroom that's really a machine, a teacher who isn't done building her students yet, and how much of "you" is actually still yours when someone else is the one doing the shaping.
