John August (Boulder 1970) è uno sceneggiatore americano di acluni tra i maggiori film di Tim Burton (Big Fish, La fabbrica di cioccolato, La sposa cadavere). Come regista ha diretto il film in tre episodi The Nines, uscito nel 2008. Insieme a Craig Mazine gestisce Scriptnotes, un podcast sulla sceneggiatura. Arlo Finch. La valle del fuoco (Mondadori 2018) è il suo esordio letterario nella narrativa per ragazzi.
