    I am not a big fan of modern literature, but this book makes an exceptions because the story in itself it's so amazing and breathtaking. Maybe for the haters of romantic genre isn't the best choice, but you still can enjoy the history fact, which are described very well and also a very interesting part of the book is the pieces from the original "The Bronze Horseman" of Pushkin that the author includes in the book. It's a long book, but I promise it will take a day to read and you get to the end , you would want to not end. Totally recommended!!

Paullina Simons è una scrittrice russa. Il suo nome da nubile è Paullina Handler.Nel 1968, quando Paullina aveva cinque anni, suo padre, Yuri Handler, fu arrestato e spedito in un gulag.Nel 1973, in seguito alla scarcerazione, Handler fece richiesta ed ottenne dal governo sovietico, l'autorizzazione all'espatrio. La famiglia emigrò negli Stati Uniti.Dopo la laurea in scienze politiche alla Kansas University, iniziò a scrivere narrativa.Il suo libro più conosciuto è Il cavaliere d'inverno, ambientato nell'Unione Sovietica durante l'Assedio di Leningrado.Ora Paullina vive a Long Island, New York con il secondo marito, Kevin Ryan, e i suoi quattro figli.
