He runs a half marathon in Barbados at dawn. He climbs the "killer mountain" Mont Pelé on Martinique, the Gros Piton on Saint Lucia and the highest mountain in the Lesser Antilles, the Soufrière on Guadeloupe. But he also deals with the hurricanes of 2017 in the final chapter "Irma, Maria and the consequences". The author was a journalist and manager of an international news agency for decades. Since leaving the news business, he has been living on the edge of the Odenwald (Germany) and travelling.
