He believed that these factors would instigate a revolutionary change, transitioning society toward socialism and ultimately culminating in a classless egalitarian system. The Communist Manifesto: Written in 1848, The Communist Manifesto lays out the principles of Marxism, analysing the historical development of class struggles and the dynamics of capitalism. Marx and Engels argue that all history is the history of class conflict, and that capitalism, like previous systems, contains the seeds of its own destruction.
