Ha studiato Letteratura inglese a Cambridge e storia dell'Asoa del Sud alla Schoolf of Oriental and African Studies della University of London. In seguito ha lavorato a Delhi come giornalista ed editor. "Impero dell'Indo" (Adelphi), opera prima e pluripremiata, è apparso nel 2008.
