Ghost Plane
Mina grows up in a wealthy, walled-in suburb of St. Petersburg, Russia. Her father, Dmitry, owns a large plastic manufacturing plant, and her mother is a sales representative. Her childhood is filled with luxury—ski trips, snowmobiles, and lavish holidays—but also responsibility. She manages chores while her parents are away on business and learns to repair the family snowmobile. An explosion at her father's factory changes everything. It results in several casualties and devastates Dmitry's pride. Within a month, he shuts down the company. Mina's mother secures a new job in Finland, and the family relocates. Mina knows the move isn't temporary; it's an escape from failure. Mina thrives in Finland and becomes a Senior Product Marketing Manager at a competitive tech firm by age twenty-nine. She lives with her fiancé in a luxurious penthouse and buys her parents an extravagant cottage, erasing any trace of past struggles. Her life is meticulously crafted for success until she receives news that her grandmother has passed away, leaving her an old cottage deep in the woods. With her fiancé away on business, she visits the cottage alone, drawn by memories and an urge to explore. On this journey, Mina discovers an abandoned plane hidden in the forest. The aircraft is eerily preserved despite its rusty exterior. Inside, she finds dust-covered interiors and food carts with seemingly edible food. Curiosity drives her to explore further until she discovers a staircase leading to an opening in the back of the plane. As she enters this strange living space, she feels unusually fatigued and overwhelmed by a horrid smell. The plane suddenly roars to life as if flying at high altitude. Mina is plunged into darkness and deafened by jet engines. She peers out of a window and sees clouds below, realizing she has stepped into another reality where the plane never crashed but instead continues its flight through time. Shocked by the experience, she flees back into the woods but remains consumed by curiosity about what she's found. Determined to document this phenomenon, Mina returns with a GoPro camera to record everything inside the room. The stormy conditions become more severe as lightning flares outside and turbulence shakes the plane violently. Just as she's about to leave again, she hears a door creak open behind her. A young man appears—translucent yet solid—a ghostly figure relieved to see another person after decades alone.
