Si è laureata in letteratura inglese presso la University of East Anglia e haottenuto un master in marketing presso la University of Kingston. Nel 2015 il suo romanzo d’esordio, The Joyce Girl, ha vinto l’Impress Prize for New Writers e lo Spotlight First Novel Award, oltre a essere arrivato finalista al Bath Novel Award e al Caledonia Novel Award. Suoi articoli e racconti sono apparsi su, tra gli altri, «The Guardian», «Mslexia», «Elle», «The Huffington Post».Frieda (Einaudi 2020) è il suo secondo romanzo, ed è stato accolto con grande entusiasmo da critica e pubblico.
