Leaving the Atocha Station

The title refers to a John Ashbery poem of the same name. Atocha Station is the largest train station in Madrid; also the site of the 2004 bombings. A young writer to watch, Lerner has been a finalist for the National Book Award and the Northern California Book Award, among many other honors, for his poetry. His work has appeared in several publications, including A Public Space, Bomb, Boston Review, Jacket, The Nation, The Paris Review, and Ploughshares.
