Scrittore tedesco. Michael Ende è cresciuto a Monaco. Dopo la scuola dell’obbligo ha frequentato (dal 1948 al 1950) la Scuola d’Arte Drammatica di Monaco e ha lavorato per tre anni come attore, conslidando nel frattempo le proprie abilità come autore di sketch teatrali e canzoni. Dal 1954 al 1962 è stato critico cinematografico presso la Radio bavarese. Il grande successo arriva con il libro per bambini "Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer" (1960), poi tradotto in Italia con il titolo "Jim Bottone e il piccolo gigante". Dal 1970 Ende ha vissuto in Italia, dove nel 1972 porta a termine il romanzo fiabesco "Momo". Ha scritto numerosi libri per bambini e ragazzi, molti dei quali hanno ottenuto grande successo internazionale, hanno avuto diverse...
