Thomas Carew

(West Wickham, Kent, 1594 o 1595 - Londra 1640) poeta inglese. È autore di un masque (Coelum Britannicum, 1634) e di raffinate liriche amorose e d’occasione (Poesie, Poems, postume, 1640), caratterizzate da immagini di acuta sensualità, come nella poesia Un’estasi (A rapture). Fu ammiratore di J. Donne, ma non seguì tanto i canoni della poesia metafisica quanto Ronsard e Marino.
