Riding the Ocean Waves
Tobi made it across the Atlantic. But the ocean isn't finished with him yet. Now a growing juvenile in the warm, amber waters of the Sargasso Sea, Tobi must cross the full width of the open Atlantic — through roaring gyres and silent deep-water darkness, past volcanic ridges and fields of drifting ghost nets, through shipping lanes and oil slicks and water that is warmer than it should be. Along the way he will find a companion he didn't choose, lose one he can't replace, and discover that the ocean has lessons it only teaches the hard way. But something else is changing too. Deep in his body, beneath the hunger and the exhaustion and the endless blue miles, a pull is growing. Not a direction. Not yet. Something warmer than that — like the memory of a place he has never been. His beach is out there somewhere. East of everything. Waiting. Riding the Ocean Waves is the second book in The Journey of Tobi Turtle trilogy — a story about what it costs to grow up, what the ocean keeps, and what it means to know where you're going before you're ready to go. The journey continues. The ocean is patient. So is home.
