A Sturm is Growing

Against all odds, Marshal Sturm has decisively crushed the recent invasion of Kriegsturm, but the overpowering threat of Ahl-Alnaar Ashomol remains. Hoping to take advantage of the momentary weakness created by the loss of the south's invading army, the Sturm Front leads his musket men, a few hundred Granite Knights, a ragtag collection of Al-Andalus militia men and the dregs of a battalion of regular army pikemen toward the heart of the southern empire—the legendary city of Madinat Alharir. If he wins his gambit, Kriegsturm will have years to prepare for the next invasion. If he loses it, nothing stands between the south and the heart of his high kingdom. It's a roll of the dice with the future of two empires as the stakes. The hot, waterless, three-moon-long Dry Season provides the Northerners a quarter of a year to prepare for an invasion of nomads attacking from the north and an equally large army of professional, Ahl-Alnaar soldiers attacking from the south.
