Ha lavorato in banca per cinque anni, poi si è rimessa a studiare ed è diventata insegnante. Il suo primo romanzo, Big Girls’ Shoes, è stato pubblicato nel 1991. Da allora Anne Cassidy ha scritto oltre cinquanta libri, trenta dei quali per adolescenti. Una delle sue opere più conosciute è Looking for JJ (2004). No Virgin e No Shame (Giunti 2020) sono i suoi romanzi più recenti.
