Jørn and Elli can't contain their excitement for their summer internship, set in the most remote place on Earth, the Avling Universal Crop Vault. Visiting the AUCV is an opportunity of a lifetime. But to the seeds stored there, it's an opportunity for survival. The majority species of plants have been identified. But when it comes to the newly-discovered Gnashvine, the research opportunities are endless. As if cultivating plants in the harsh Antarctic weather weren't enough of a challenge, Jørn, Elli, and the rest of the scientists are confronted with a killer plant that's out for blood. Who sent the tainted seeds? Was it sabotage? Or something else entirely? Nutrient-rich soil, water, sunlight, and TLC? Not for the Gnashvine, which thrives off human blood and snow. Jørn took a chance getting a PhD in mechanobiology—an obscure branch of science—but little did he know that his highly specialized field of study would be their guidebook to survival. As if the pressure of keeping the rest of the scientists alive weren't enough, Jørn is forced to confront deeper emotional connections with Lovise, a fellow colleague.
