Mary Wollstonecraft

Nacque nel 1759 a Londra. È stata scrittrice, filosofa e promotrice dei diritti delle donne. Scrisse romanzi, trattati, un diario di viaggio, un libro sulla Rivoluzione francese e un libro per bambini. Morì nel 1797. È nota principalmente per il suo testo Sui diritti delle donne, in cui argomenta la parità naturale tra uomini e donne, che si trasforma in disparità solo per questioni di educazione e formazione. I suoi saggi sono considerati pietre miliari del movimento femminista e della lotta per l’emancipazione delle donne.
