Voidian Poetry Volume 2

This volume, along with the next few in the series, falls under the category Echoes from the Past. These books contain the earliest poems I wrote over several years, shaped by both direct and indirect experience. They explore many aspects of the human condition and our ongoing struggle to make sense of a world that can sometimes feel senseless. Now, how does one introduce a book of poetry? With grand declarations, perhaps, or with a solemn promise that these words will change your life. I won't do that. In fact, I'll admit upfront that this introduction may be little more than filler. Most people skim these sections anyway. But if you've made it this far, you'll probably read a few more lines, and that's enough for me. My poetry is not written for fame, fortune, or the approval of critics. If I had been chasing those things, I would have given up long ago. I write because I must — to clear the chaos in my head, to wrestle with honesty, and to leave behind something that might help others see through the illusions and labels imposed upon them. If even one reader feels less alone, or decides to strive toward being a better version of themselves tomorrow, then my words will not have been wasted. This collection brings together several volumes of my general poetry, combined to make things more cost-effective for the reader. More poems, less money — a rare bargain in publishing. The poems span a wide range of themes: Romance, Love, Life, Pain, Nature, Politics, Philosophy, Metaphysics, Spirituality, and Satire. To confine them to a single genre would be absurd. If you must give them a label, call them Voidian — or Voidian Cosmology — for they are echoes bouncing off the dark matter that surrounds us. Of course, there may be some overlap. Certain poems appear in more than one collection, sometimes rewritten, sometimes altered, sometimes simply repeated because they demanded to be heard again. Chronology matters too: I've arranged them in the order they were written, so you can trace the slow evolution of my voice. I should also confess that my publishing history has been… colourful. At one point, I had over a hundred poetry books available through Amazon. Then, after a bureaucratic tangle involving accounts and access, they decided to wipe the slate clean. Five years of work vanished overnight. I earned about £3 in royalties during that time, so perhaps it was no great loss. At least I was spared the joy of filling out a self-assessment tax form. In hindsight, they did me a favour. So here I am again, writing, republishing, and refusing to give up. Cynical? Yes. Honest? Always. I don't write for money or recognition, though I wouldn't object to a little more financial comfort than the State Pension provides. What I do write for is clarity, transmission, and the stubborn belief that words can still matter. This book is not a product of marketing strategy or genre conventions. It is simply me — my thoughts, my struggles, my humour, my honesty — distilled into verse. If you choose to read it, I hope you find something that resonates, even if only a single line. And if not, well, at least I've been true to myself. May you grow in wisdom, and tread your path in safety.
