Authoritarian Practices and Humanitarian Negotiations

Includes case studies on China, Afghanistan, Syria and Ethiopia to illustrate humanitarian contexts and the practice of negotiating with authoritarian regimes. A practice-oriented examination that also provides the basis for further study on the issue of how international humanitarian NGOs conceptualise core political concepts, such as sovereignty, and how this relates to domestic politics.
